Labels: art for blind

This is the first vinyl release from Little Ease with six new songs here in their punchy style of garagey punk and it’s nice to get my hands on some vinyl from this band for the first time. I was delighted to hear that there is no great departure compared to their previous output. Jay is still blurting out the vocals and yelping at a rate of knots in that inimitable, higher pitch of his, and the songs are short and snappy. All 6 songs are over in less than a total of 10 minutes. “The Inclined” is the standout track for me. The guitars sound great on this track in particular. It has an intro of about 38 seconds before the drums kick in which is pretty much epic in Little Ease proportions. The fuzzier side of their guitars is quite prevalent on this record and it’s safe to say that if you liked their previous output you’re going to like this. It is probably their strongest release so far. The cover art is very cool too – a black and white photo of a non-league football team. For any football geeks out there, it is an old picture of Whitehawk FC who won the Ryman League Division One South this year. That was despite having 3 points deducted for fielding an ineligible player during a match earlier in the season. They clearly have a passion for non-league football – there is even a photo of them on the insert watching one of their matches.
