Haraball - Frowns vs Downs - 7

Labels: Fysisk Format
Review by: Kjetil Holstad

Haraball is a relatively new band out of Kongsberg Norway featuring members of Fairfuck and Tiebreak who both released one good 7″ each in the late 90s. Their first 7″ “the rope” released earlier this year did not completely win me over, but a couple of kick ass good live shows later (one which included a Kafka Prosess cover and three Tiebreak songs including original guitarist Philip) and I’m definitely hooked. This 7″ follows the same pattern as “The Rope”; short, sub 2 minutes, straight up hardcore songs that look to the US in the early 80s. Definitely not a genre I know too well so will not throw out too many references, but if you enjoy quality hardcore played tight and hard with lots of attitude you might end up liking this as much as I do. Apparently this is the second out of three 7″s and they are all hand numbered and comes with a limited color option, so if you are a collector you should head over to their bandcamp or Fysisk Format and order up both and wait patiently for the last instalment of pure as fuck Norwegian hardcore.
