State Lines - s/t - 7

Labels: Tiny Engines
Review by: MH

I wasn’t sure what to expect here having not heard State Lines before. However, this is some above average pop punk with a bit of a 90s influence thrown in for good measure. The lead vocals are raspy and the sound is rough and raw enough to keep it interesting. There are four short songs here that are varied and melodic. This is better than a lot of of other pop punk doing the rounds at the moment. The start of the final track, “œWin Free”, has a bit of a Superchunk vibe to it too and that is fine by me. This EP is better than alright and has sparked my interest enough to download their album too.
