Review by: Oli Saunders
You could give Opposition Rising a quick listen and write it off as standard hardcore, particularly the first track, but upon listening carefully to the whole record they indeed succeed at their claim of combining a multitude of sub-genres of punk. The vocals are straight out of the traditional hardcore rulebook, but the instruments keep things interesting. In particular, I love the guitar parts that sound like they could be right out of a ska song; I’ve never heard this combination before. If only they deployed some slightly more original vocals (and perhaps more subtle lyrics) I would be singing its praises far and wide.
