This band is completely new to me despite having been kicking around for the best part of a decade. They come from Liverpool and play melodic punk with a Clash influence – street punk perhaps. It’s pretty good. There are 12 tracks here – the majority of which are straightforward and very British sounding thanks partly to the accent in the vocals. The lyrics are about hard times, struggles, dole queues and the like. Opener “Tourist In A Tenement” kicks off with a nice, melodic riff and is a good sign of things to come. The songs are fairly anthemic. They throw quite a few “woah-woahs” into the mix and there are plenty of gang vocals backing the singer up. I think I’d probably enjoy seeing this band play live. The last song is acoustic and mellow. The Scouse accent really stands out in the vocals on this one. The best song on here is probably “Long Way Down” which has a really cool riff. It reminds me of something from the 90s – I can’t quite remember what though and it’s been bugging me for days – one day I might remember. If you like bands like The Magnificent then this is well worth checking out.
