Warm Needles - Pretty Tambo - 7

These guys come from Long Island. They describe themselves as “dumb pop punk” on their Facebook page and that is not far off if a little harsh. There are four tracks here and it has does have something of a sloppy pop punk feel to it. It is fairly raucous with defiant singalong parts. The lyrics are a touch repetitive when they get into the choruses but a closer look at them reveals quite a bleakness and anger – very nice. I like the raspy vocals and there’s a neat simplicity to it all. The production suits it too and gives it a live energy. I’d pick out last song “œCarrion Ditch” as the best song on here – I like the “œDon’t give up on me” refrain towards the end. Pretty good.
