More in your face hardcore punk from dutch band Fokkum, they start things off with some bird noises before the instruments kick in and a angry political speech is played over the top. Then we move into their heart-on-sleeve styled punk, seventeen songs of it in fact, averaging under two minutes each. Some of the lyrics do my head in but one thing is does do is make you think. Track 7 quotes ‘doctors destroy health, lawyers destroy justice, universities destroy knowledge, …’ which I strongly disagree with whilst understanding how elements are true, such as the concept of privatisation giving rise to increased financial motives (whilst of course state control has its own problems). As I said in my last review of one of their albums, its not subtle enough for me and it is very samey, but at the same time it’s a decent slice of hardcore punk.
