Shatterhand are new to me but this is some driving punk rock from a UK band who have been around since 1998. It’s quite possible that they have been on at an all-dayer that I have been at and I probably missed them somehow. No matter, they have been reviewed on here previously and are contenders for longest time lapsed between reviews – 11 years in fact. This one comes comparatively hot on the heels of the last one and is just shy of 2 years since last time out. There are twelve tracks here – pretty rollicking and reasonably gritty, fast punk rock. It’s kind of heavy with a slight metal influence amd they deal in strong melodies and political lyrics. A bit of guitar soloing creeps in too. I am not a huge fan of the guitar solos but this is still pretty good and there are plenty of solid songs on offer here. I would pick out opener “œJust For A Minute” and “Brewdog Nights” as standouts. The latter features a fiddle – yes, a fiddle (!). You probably don’t believe me but it kind of works! No complaints here – I reckon I’d enjoy seeing them play live.
