Ok, so Trust Fall describe themselves as “blackened emo”. I’m not quite sure what
they mean by that, but I hope its emo played by dudes with black metal make-up on!
Trust Fall hail from Virginia and play jangly emo with semi-spoken/screamed vox.
It’s really good stuff actually. There are some great sounding guitar passages and
extended instrumental sections in it, like during first track Be Your Own Bird.
They vary their pace and have the right mix of chaotic emo noise and introspective
instrumental moments. Second track 21 Steps To Nowhere has a slightly mathy edge
to it. It’s a slower song, but when they break out into noisier sections, they don’t half
jolt you into life.
I’ve already said I like this, but I’ll say it again for good measure. This short, sharp 7″
comes highly recommended.
