In the dusty, dirty vaults of my brain’s musical filing system, these chaps dwell alongside fellow Finnish latter day noise-rockers Throat and Baxter Stockman, but they also weigh down the shelves and spill out into the totally rocking, grooving, stonerish sections. Think Unsane mixed with High On Fire, which I feel isn’t all that common a combo. Hebosagil’s earlier releases, all of which are great, are much thicker, blown-out affairs. There has been a tightening up of things and the resultant focus makes them sound angrier which is a highly welcome transition. I really need to move to Helsinki.
