I-tunes thought this was ‘girl put your records on’ by Corinne Bailey Rae. But it isn’t, it’s a band called Mary Kelly who play a genre called ‘grungecore trash’ apparently a sub genre of hardcore?! There’s also a picture of them with someone eating a vimto ice lolly (one of those ones a bit like a callipo), I fucking love Vimto, it’s really great, but any attempt to ice lollify them loses a lot of its lovely flavour, it’s very disappointing.
I don’t know what grungecore trash means, I assume its just made up. This is a punk band, with a bit of a ‘horror-core’ style (there’s a genre I’ve heard of!) It reminds me of Guttermouth or Jugheads Revenge, it’s like a a Nitro sampler.
If I was a yoot and I was down my local youth club, I would probably think this band was fucking aces. but I am an old and cross man, and I’ve got Black Flag reforming to grumble about so I don’t. If I was in Mary Kelly I wouldn’t give a fuck what I thought. Good luck to them!
