With the freshly-patted down earth on City Dweller’s grave still gathering dew, we already have new offshoot bands in the form of The Exhausts and Doe, all centred around their own Regicide Records imprint. These guys don’t mess about. Doe are up first, powered by drummer Jake, with a perfectly-formed five tracker of crunchy, catchy, anthemic grunge pop and gets in your head and doesn’t leave. Think Hot Snakes and Fugazi in that post-punk / post-hardcore tradition, with a heavy emphasis on melody, duelling girl-boy vocals and nifty guitar interplay. Really bloody good already.
