Let It Go - Modern Atlas - 7

This is five songs of melodic hardcore from a Baltimore band in the vein of Strike Anywhere. After the initial melancholy riff, the opener “Diehard 2” sets the scene with its breakneck pace, gruff dual vocal attack and shouted gang vocals towards the end. Amidst the pace and yelling there are some neat melodic riffs going on as well as the more chugging ones. The pounding drums give this an additional edge too. The last song, “Age”, leans more into gruff punk territory and has a huge chorus about getting older. This is the best song on here with its anthemic leanings. Perfectly solid and energetic stuff.
