Obviously not content to have the likes of Asspiss and Anal Warhead on their roster, SWT have gone the whole sweary hog with this one and dropped the c-bomb on distro lists across the globe. Where from here, though? How can they top it? Get The Thick Of It’s swearing consultant onboard to help with some strange new profanity? Only time and the blushing of shy, socially-awkward record store clerks will tell. Confrontational name and rowdy artwork aside, Nihilist Cunt play some fairly melodic, fairly straight-up anarcho-tinged punk that’s bedecked with snarlingly venomous female vocals and yobby male back-ups. The nine songs charge ahead in straightforward fashion and give off a distinct late 80s / early 90s vibe: you could imagine this lot’s name in little letters, low down on the list of names on some crumpled flyer for a gig that featured Born Against, Go! and Citizens Arrest in some crappy part of New York. All told, it’s pretty ok if unlikely to set anyone’s world alight.
