Total Metal. I don’t know Entombed beyond that ‘To ride, shoot straight, and speak the truth’ album, which was fantastic. This reminds me of that, a bit less rock n rolly maybe. I saw Entombed at Ozzfest once, they were better than everyone, apart from Pantera. They were definitely better than Coal Chamber.
I’m no metal expert, but there is no singing in this, just grunting/barking, which is a bonus for me, I hate a
melodic chorus in metal, stupid Bring me the Horizon, they make me sick. Incidentally I hear that sort of
metal is now called post hardcore? If that’s post hardcore then by that definition so is all music post the
early 80’s, I always thought that sort of thing was called ‘metal core’? (i have a feeling I have moaned about this on here before). The third song is my favourite, ‘Trial of Wounds’, most of the songs sound basically the same, but that’s ok. Its a good record. It’s heavy, the barking’s good, the riffs are beefy, the drums involve a lot of double bass work. If you want some death metal, then its all here fam.
