The Demon Beat play fuzzy rock and roll; the first track is really raw and aggressive, whilst the second is much more laid back and tuneful. It has a hint of melancholy too which I like. A nice combination of songs overall. Elephant Child are on the other side and play one long song of a similar sort of style – it sort of just floats by without really engaging me. A solid record, with The Demon Beat edging it for me, but I’m not so sure about the cover artwork.
