Review by: Oli Saunders

This is a punk rerelease from the nineties, courtesy of Boss Tuneage. It contains a 10” from ’92 and two live sets from Gilman Street from ’89. The first three songs are solid punk with vocals that really grab me. They remind me of some other band but I can’t for the life of me remember who. Track two, ‘Rain’, is a stormer and my favourite on the record. Tracks four to seven then lurch into acoustic punk, but in a way that made most modern attempts at folk punk completely redundant. ‘Is It True’ is a highlight here, with its powerful but somewhat subtle lyrics. OK this is now my favourite song on the record. The lyrics throughout are likeable, due to their thought provoking yet non-obtrusive nature. Punks would do well to listen to this since from my knowledge of this genre it seems both ahead of its time and very well done.

I’m less bothered about the live tracks but they don’t harm my opinion of the record overall.
