Among Giants play solid folk-punk but in all honesty it sounds like pretty much every other folk-punk band that I’ve heard – or at least, it doesn’t stand out from the crowd. I’m not a fan of the genre at all, you’ve probably worked that out by now. Fast-paced acoustic guitar and urgent half-sung half-spoken vocals are the essence, with occasional variance such as other members joining in on vocals and the use of drums and an electric guitar. Fans of Defiance, Ohio and the like should take note but that sums it up – I think you’ll have to be a pretty big fan of the genre to enjoy this.
