Chile have had some solid screamo bands over the years, including Esconder Micara, Roboteam, Vlado Petrik and Malevolentia, the latter two being the pick in my opinion. Revolte continue this tradition and fit in well with the crowd in terms of sound. The ghost of Tristan Tzara is unmistakably present but, whilst I love Tristan Tzara, it ultimately makes me enjoy the songs less due to the similarity. Production needs to be a bit rougher too, the angish doesn’t come across as well as it could. Cue my usual comment about how great they probably are live – chatting to a few people on Soulseek years ago it seemed that the country had a pretty close-knit scene – I hope it’s still going.
