I listened to this before I read the promo notes and felt a major eighties vibe; turns out these are unreleased songs from ’83 – ’86. There is so much variance across the CD it is hard to pin the sound down. Joy Division like at times, poppy at others, with the vocals sound different across the entirety; ‘Blind Love’ is a highlight. Overall, this feels original and refreshing but also lacking stability. By track 13 I am rather confused and the songs are solid but don’t trigger sufficient oxytocin for me to really recommend this.
