This is the second outing for the gig-shy Nobody, Ever. They put out a really good demo a few months back and are now back with this new EP of five indie rock/punk tracks that are a step up from before. Once again I am reminded of Dowsing and The Get Up Kids with the nostalgic lyrics looking back on bygone days but there is a Britishness that differentiates them from those bands. For a start, they even mention the village of Sketchley and doing paper rounds. The distinctly honest and personal feeling to the songs gives it an additional attraction too. Having read another quite touching review of this EP by a friend of the band a while back it only adds to the appeal knowing that the lyrics are based around real events and people. All five of these songs are really good but “The Last Good Thing” is a huge pop song and maybe their best moment so far. The more aggressive and defiant “Room 505” runs it close though as does the slower closing track. They play quite straightforward and catchy indie rock but I think they write really good pop songs. Rumour has it that they might actually be playing a gig quite soon. This could be their “8 Mile” and it *MIGHT* be your chance to watch them battle rap with Oxygen Thief.
