Cassus have come along since I reviewed their split with I Don’t Want To Know Why The Caged Bird Sings. Hints of Reversal Of Man at times in the high shrieked vocals, I am also reminded of The Kodan Armada when the burst of spoken vocals comes in. It’s less drawn out and more in your face. It still completely takes its roots from 90s screamo but that ain’t a bad thing. A UK band worth keeping an eye on, what I’d really like them to do know is just add some sound that is uniqely theirs.
¡Silencio, Ahora, Silencio! are the other band on this split and are rawer that Cassus. I don’t think my laptop speakers can do the sound justice as it is all over the shop and it’s pretty godamn ferocious. I’m into this, though the penultimate song and then a throwaway track at the end kind of ruin things.
