Given the vast piles of CDs and MP3s that arrive at Collective Towers on a weekly basis I can’t say that I put this aside on reception, but when assessing the material for inclusion on the big list of stuff I found myself pretty taken with one of the tracks on their Soundcloud page so figured I’d take a pop at this little 4 track effort. RaBaD engage in a pretty lively form of punk here, with big riffs and snarly vocals. Opener “Taurus and the Hare” is a repetitive little number, and it sets the tone for the CD, which pumps out a lot of energy. It’s all pretty straight forward punk rock music, but I appreciate the heft they generate here. Everything is quick fire and melodic, delivered with gusto. I can imagine they would be pretty spirited live too. Solid effort all told, lazy comparison time – Small Brown Bike crossed with Rancid maybe?!
