Labels: Grave Mistake – Refuse
Review by: Kunal Nandi
Check the stats: 12 inches, 45 rpm, 9 songs, 10 mins. Stir that together and you’ve got a totally righteous and relentless mosh machine from these Washington DC straight-edgers. You could file this alongside the classics by Ripcord, Heresy, Infest and Siege and not worry too much about it as there are plenty of catchy riffs and raging bile, all tightly performed and packed with energy. I was going to be a douche and say how it kind of blurs by at first but after a few spins (which really don’t take that long) you really appreciate the variety there is, certainly in terms of speed, with much appreciated chuggy bits rubbing shoulders with near powerviolence grinding. Anyway, there’s only one reason you’ll be spinning this, and that’s for a proper head-cleaning. This totally does the trick.
