A new CD from Graham Repulski… cool. This was sent to me directly from the man himself. I say man, I have forgotten whether it is just one guy or a bunch of people. I am informed on a note that there will be lots more releases this year too. The CD, meanwhile, is all over in eight minutes and is packed with eight songs of, by what is now, a familiar sound: I can’t really say there has been an evolution over time in the music at all. At times (actually, most of the time) it feels like a half drunk guy has gone into a recording booth, like they had in the sixties, and randomly started strumming away and singing. Which makes the fact that I enjoy it so much all the more confusing. There isn’t really a standout track and I think Graham saves these for his shorter (!) releases, but this remains an enjoyable lo-fi indie experience. Bring on the next one.
