Review by: Captain Fidanza
Somehow, somewhen, somewhere, something is approaching.
It almost feels and sounds almost like the beginning of things.
Whatever it is, it’s moving with easy power, edging nearer to us with every passing second.
In a few moments, it’s going to be too late to run and hide and the second it crowns the hill we’re going to be struck senseless with awe at the sprawling magnitude of its form and moving from this spot in which we’re standing is no longer going to be an available option.
Yesterday we crawled from the lake and lay gasping on the shore. As the earth warmed we surveyed the expanse of the world and experienced fear in a way no one had before.
The burning circle of flame which moved across the sky and hurt our eyes to look at, seemed to be the source of the heat which had dried our backs, but slowly it sank from it’s position in the firmament, taking with it not only the heat but the light which helped us see. The fear we felt before was nothing compared to the terror we were experiencing now and as the sky went out and we were forced into the caves to shelter from the cold, we wondered if that was the end of everything. Must we now exist only inside nothing?
But gradually the air warmed again and slowly the light returned.
This album is a field recording of that first sunrise.
