Instant kudos for releasing this record as a tape. The first song has the same finger picked chord throughout (with a violin chucked in halfway through) and whilst it’s no Jackson C Frank I still appreciate it and the honest lyrics that hit home. The remainder of the songs are mostly strummed with occasionally fingerpicking, the violin also making regular appearances. This all plays secondary to the passionate vocals of Justin and his words on love and depression. There is a fantastic underlying message about not being alone. The instruments dwell in relative simplicity for the most part but that’s a good thing and there is sufficient variety to keep things interesting. Overall this is pretty special.
