Cool, shambling, sloppy-bollocked garage with a psychedelic twist from these Italian miscreants. While archaeological comparisons were inevitable (Nuggets, The Gun Club and the occasional ‘Evil One’ moment…) the overriding vibe for me is of In The Red during that incredible five year stretch which saw standout releases from The Black Lips, The King Khan and BBQ Show, The Strange Boys, Thee Oh Sees and Reigning Sound. It’s catchy, loose and snuffles along enjoyably, so much so that you don’t necessarily stop to think that the lyrics are bobbins or that you’ve already got a fair few records that sound like this already. Smart, like.
