This is a London band playing some fuzzy and noisy indie rock/post punk/whatever with a member connection to Sauna Youth. It says on Bandcamp that this is their last outing as a two-piece. With the addition of Heather from Slowcoaches, they are becoming a trio so I’m guessing they are moving from guitar and drums and bulking up with some bass guitar. Either way, there are four tracks here that follow on from their previous effort, “Memory”, with a slightly bigger sound than before. I’d probably have been referencing Manors and Baby Mollusk if I was reviewing “œMemory” but this time out Sleater Kinney and Joanna Gruesome seem more appropriate. It fits in well with what Bloomer are doing at the moment too. It’s all nicely upbeat and droney, hypnotic pop featuring plenty of fuzz and nice harmonies in the female vocals. Three songs of their own followed by a brilliantly raucous Supergrass cover version at the end. Interesting lyrical topics inspired by Hillel Schwartz’s book of the same name as the EP too by the way. Very nice indeed.
