Oh Poor Watcher - Now They See Sky - Tape (2014)

This is some hauntingly beautiful and fragile acoustics from York. Oh Poor Watcher is Nicole Palfrey and her delicate, beautiful vocals drift soothingly over warm and slow acoustic strums and light fingerpicking here. There was a demo a while back and “Clousden Drive” gets a little more breathing space here. “Duffle Coat” is probably my choice as standout song with its distant sadness in the vocals and whole feel of the song. Nicole’s vocals really tug on the heartstrings on this one. This tape should appeal if you find solace in the likes of Lake Michigan and Grouper. Really lovely, sad and slow stuff across the 4 songs. Cool cover art too.
