I’m listening to this tape on a dictaphone that my mum used to use for audio typing. It captures a live feel whilst the quality of the recording remains sufficient. The instruments play some really interesting melodic punk whilst someone squawks over the top. The former I like, the latter not so much. On the second track an additional member does spoken word over the top. I can’t help but feel that there are good ideas throughout but that it doesn’t work well when put together. Like some hardcore punk version of Carlisle. I’ll say it again though; the guitar riffs that Endless Rope play are top notch. I just think the vocals need some tinkering with.
