Grabbed this because (a) it sounded up my alley and (b) because the band were from Buffalo, that same part of America from whence crept Running For Cover and Gas Chamber. I don’t know whether Tank had anything to do with either of those bands, but part of me feels not. This is because neither Gas Chamber nor RFC seem like the kind of bands whose members would name themselves after an extant NWOBHM act or pen a theme song talking about how well tanks can crush stuff. Maybe I’m wrong, but it’s just a hunch. Anyway, this is pretty good. Gnarly, frantic power violence which is summed up neatly enough by dedications to both Infest and Napalm Death in the thanks list. Amid the blasts are some par-for-the-course slow-motion segments and some interestingly spindly, sideways guitar parts that remind me a touch of Soul Swallower. Pretty good, I’d say, and I’ll certainly be back for more once I’ve popped to the shop to get some more batteries for my Walkman.
