This is a record inspired by an underground movement in Italy active between 1930 and 1940, in which people would illegally translate American fiction into their mother tongue. Sonically it is sometimes reminiscent of a field recording of a room in which a television is playing a Western from the sixties, punctuated by someone reading aloud passages from Steinbeck and Fante.
Something of a curate’s egg, but certainly one to be praised for its singular vision.
