This is some bedroom-y indie from Flower Face who is Ruby McKinnon from Windsor, Canada. Melancholy in the main in terms of feel and lyrics which are thoughtful and recount very personal tales – take “Cloud Factories” for example, where she is talking about experiences with someone whose gravestone she later walks past. The vocals are clean, youthful and fragile, and float over acoustic guitar and keys. Songs like “Quinoa” and “Linger” are particularly delicate in nature. It’s all very understated indie pop that is well-suited to night-time listening. I can also confirm that it sounds very nice at 346am while jetlagged from a flight from Australia to England.
