This is some minimalist, ambient stuff from a guy in Michigan. It’s four tracks long, is predominantly keys-led and plods along quietly and reflectively. The third track changes things up with more of a shimmer fading in and out. About a billion years ago I bought a CD called “Forward!” on the Gringo Records label by I Am Spartacus because they had at least one member of Bob Tilton in the band. The reflective, minimal nature of Rosary’s music reminds me of the opening track on “Forward!”, “A Dream Woke Me”. While the similarities may end there, Rosary, having sent this in to CZ, has indirectly led me to me digging that old CD out again for the first time in ages and that’s a good thing. I know next to nothing about this sort of music but I like this – particularly in the small hours.
