This is some pretty nice stuff right here: crunchingly elegant instrumental rock from two dudes who played in You & I and two who currently play in East Of The Wall. The result is a well-balanced, carefully-constructed album that neatly merges dynamic thrusts and melodic nous with a frilly sense of prettiness. Nothing is misplaced, nothing is uncertain and everything is pretty much as you’d want it to be, the band coming off like a mix of Broughton’s Rules and From Monuments To Masses with just enough of that old You & I punch to maintain a puckish, punkish sense of urgency.
