When this started – I thought ooh, some more post punkish music, this reminds me of a less dubby Red Monkey, then it melted into what sounded like Tom Strawbridge (of Marshall Teller etc) grumpily telling me off. This isn’t as disturbing as it sounds.
Anyway as soon as that burst of gruff, growly pop punk (in a good way) has finished, it again drops into that great indie post punk style. For some reason it make me think of Cornwall.
Council Tax Band are from Bedford not Cornwall much to my disappointment, I’m pretty sure I’ve been to Bedford but the only thing I know about it is that Wiley tells us he went to a nightclub there in ‘Take That’ – he was there with all his crew, so he claims. Like Wiley, if anyone thinks Council Tax Band can’t do it anymore they better step right back and take that….
That’s the worst thing I have ever written – and I’ve written some dross.
Basically good to listen to indie punk, with synth post punk undertones. The song ‘Job Centre’ is my top spot. This is worth your time.
