Two pretty solid songs of indie rock here, both approximately four minutes long. In fact one of them is exactly four minutes long. “Creature” has atmospheric guitars and full on emoted vocals like an Emo Diaries band from 12 years ago. It’s kind of like if Band of Horses listened to all those bands. I’m digging it, though I definitely prefer the parts when they aren’t treading on the guitar pedals quite so much. “Nagoya” is a dead nice drifter, sort of recalls slow Archers of Loaf stuff, it gets really rumbly at times, like an aeroplane struggling to take off. It’s interesting contrasting this to their previous release, which appears to wear different slacker influences, presenting a Beach Fossils-ish low fidelity vibe. That’s gone now.
This is a good pair of songs, which provide enough for me to form a solid opinion that they seem to know what they are doing and are more than capable of dishing up an independent rock music lp that I, personally, would very likely enjoy.
