The first song on this tape is essentially someone having a temper tantrum. Constant wailing over the top of random hitting of instruments. I presume this is Bollock Swine – they describe themselves as extreme improvisation noise core which couldn’t be more accurate. I’m sure I’m giving a good impression to my new housemate by blasting out this. The second and third tracks are similar – how much effort goes into writing songs like these? The third track sounds like someone is going round a rickety rollercoaster and really not enjoying it. It goes on for well over five minutes. Okay two more songs to go on this side. In the last song they decide to change styles and play some classic rock. No, I’m kidding, it’s more random noise. Do you like the sound of someone operating heavy machinery in a haunted house? If so, this is for you.
Chappa’ai Vs 886VG are on the other side. First of all, they have a good entry in the most nonsensical band name competition. And secondly, one song? I am fearful given that it’s going to last over twenty minutes. Here goes… oh okay, they sound a bit like Phil Collins. Ha I got you again. A low pitched bit of feedback gives way to some drums and high pitched feedback before the low pitched feedback joins back in. Then they go mental and one very angry person growls over the top. It’s more musical than Bollock Swine but that’s not exactly an achievement. It’s a mess, like if a death metal band started trying to play on the aforementioned rickety rollercoaster. The tape colour is reminiscent of Mr. Blobby, the artwork is not too surprisingly of bizarre nature (what is the cat doing?). Interesting.
