I’ve heard Sea Salt before – it’s been a while though – over 2 years since his previous release. Sea Salt is one guy in Seattle, Kurtis Roy, who wrote the songs and played all the instruments. He recorded it all too. It’s kind of indie/emo pop and the sound here is a lot cleaner than on his previous EP with something of an electronica-slant to the instrumentation. It’s also very laidback and makes for a pleasant listen with five short tracks that hover under or over the two minute mark. I’d say that “Pilsen” is the standout – a nice little pop song. It’s Sunday morning and that seems like a good time to listen to this sort of chilled-out stuff.
