New Shonen Bat stuff is always good news for me. Definitely something prolific about the number of releases they’ve put out and this one follows on from February’s “Bad Character”. There are nine songs here and the majority of them don’t get much past two minutes so don’t get anywhere near outstaying their welcome. The sound here is perhaps a little rougher around the edges, a little noisier than “Bad Character” although it still has this kind of mellow, laidback side “” particularly to the guitar sound and the vocals for the most part. I’d say that the influences I’ve referenced in the past would still apply here. The combination of jangle on the guitars as well as the rougher guitar sound makes me think of Polaris. The cover art is, again, sensational. This is the fourth time I’ve written reviews about this band and once again I’m saying that this is a band worth paying attention to.
