Labels: Matinee Recordings
Review by: MH
This one came in alongside The Hermit Crabs in an email from Matinee Recordings and it fits in nicely with the rest of the label’s output that I’ve heard so far with it being some pretty lovely indie pop. They appear to have been going for the best part of a decade having had a song on a Matinee Recordings compilation CD back in 2007. Sandra leads the songs on vocals and has a light and melodic vocal style. Apparently all the instuments are played by a guy called Laz and the whole thing has a C86 vibe about it. It works well and they have some really nice songs on here – most notably the opener, “Every Day The Sun Shines Brighter” and “Too Close To Call”.
