This is probably one of my favourite 7″s of the year. It’s rough, nasty, sneering stuff that hectors and howls but stops just short of aggravating, merging the acne-prone clangour of all that Toxic State stuff with some Flipper-esque sax honks and, at times, a sharp, needling angularity that reminds of Ut or something similar. Whether they adopt a mid-paced lope or a faster amble Violence Creeps are always interesting and always kinda threatening: a top combo as far as I’m concerned and one that’s made them essential listening since the thing rattled through the letterbox and landed with a greasy splat on my doormat.
