Polis-Ackel - Worldwide Death Culture - Tape (2015)

Labels: Imminent Destruction
Review by: Alex Deller

Raw, blown-out and really rather decent D-beat from somewhere in Italy. Over ten songs (nine their own, one an Anti-Cimex cover) Polis-Ԟckel paint a bleak, monochromatic vision of a world in thrall to chaos and destruction. The music – such as it is – sounds like a ragged, sand-blasted kerfuffle and the vocals little more than an indecipherable and genuinely painful-sounding tearing noise. It is, of course, pretty ruddy horrible, but anyone signing up and stitching the band’s tatty patch on the back of their jacket will surely be expecting nothing less.
