Thirty Six Strategies - Strategy Three - CD (2015)

Labels: Boss Tuneage
Review by: MH

I meant to give this band a listen last year when Andy reviewed a couple of their releases as they sounded like they might be right up my street. Thirty Six Strategies play the kind of punk rock that is driven, melodic and powerful and with an audible Revolution Summer influence. The end result of me hearing them now for the first time is that I now want to hear everything else they’ve done. The vocals are a good fit – apparently it’s a new singer, Marie Vockins – kind of gritty but melodic too. I reckon the standout track is “Treading On Angels” as it best exemplifies all those traits I mentioned and is a bit of a corker. I’m off to find “Strategy One” and “Strategy Two” now.
