Featuring Will Killingsworth of Orchid and Meghan Minior of Siamese Twins re-united from their days in Ampere, this is the first full length from the band following up on their 2013 demo tape.
Longings is bleak and dark post-punk with dual vocals, that somehow manages to be gloomy yet life-affirming. The melodies are urgent and enticing, with lyrics that are direct and poignant, assuredly dragging you in. I absolutely love this record, it’s addictive listening, I listened to it four times in a row, and didn’t get bored once, in fact I enjoyed it more and more with each listen. It’s so simply done, but that’s what makes it so great, the passion oozes out of every line, and every note. It’s compelling listening, I’d like more now please.
