Thee Oh Sees are one of those bands that can bowl me over one minute and infuriate me beyond belief the next. This time around they take more conciliatory route, offering up two low-key numbers that’re interesting and enjoyable without quite being stop-you-in-your tracks killer. Thin, trebly guitars spark and squiggle all over the place while unctuous vocals coo gloopily atop it all, the title track rolling and splashing like a happy dog chasing after a frisbee that’s been thrown into the sea while B-side ‘Man In A Suitcase’ somehow sounds like the Butthole Surfers colliding with the Byrds. Both are interestingly arranged and pack a polite sort of punch, making for some nicely-done post-cum-garage-cum-psych punk that’s actually worthier of an immersive listen than a quick one-two flip of a 7″.
