Labels: Le Noize Maker Records – Paper Garden Records – Song, By Toad Records
Review by: Captain Fidanza
I saw these lunatics in a place in Kings Cross a few years ago and found the experience a wholly enjoyable one. I also saw Aidan Moffat, who appears to have been recruited for this release, in a pub on Essex Road as part of a night organised by The Quietus and that too was brilliant, so the idea of a collaboration between the two is one that piqued my interest from the moment I opened the email.
The “single” being used to promote the album is seven minutes long which gives you an idea of the commercial ambitions of these people. The album itself is two minutes short of the running time of the film Casablanca and consists of twelve songs with titles such as “Plunge of the Dagger” and “Concrete Statement.”
The fact this album exists at all is testament to the inherent brilliance at the heart of humankind.
