I have always been a massive fan of the first album by Flying Saucer Attack and though I have spent years looking for something to match the strange, spectral atmosphere of that record, I’ve never been able to find anything.
The search is now over and although Landing have apparently been making music since 1999, somehow this is the very first time I have heard of them.
Differing slightly from the wordless ambience of Flying Saucer Attack, the addition of vocals here doesn’t obscure the music but rather enhances it, giving an occasional focus amid the extended passages of swirling, spiralling noodling that floats and breathes throughout two extended songs.
Certain sections of this album would provide a perfect soundtrack to a piece of film showing the germination of a seed filmed underground.
