Strap yourself in and set phasers to fun as Expander take off into the outer limits of sci-fi themed metal-punk action. Or seemingly so as it’s tricky to make out what the singer is saying, plus the inventiveness and ambition of the likes of Voivod are lacking here. What Expander do have in spades are some razor sharp guitars playing deceptively simple riffs that hug your face and get inside your head before morphing into some truly undeniable raging stomp. A satisfying little slab of garish coloured vinyl courtesy of Czech label Doomentia which means it looks the business too.
